Student Network
Are you a full-time or part-time student studying, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level, in the UK?
At LGB Alliance, we are currently exploring how we can best support lesbian, gay, and bisexual students across the UK to connect with one another, locally or nationally.
We know that, too often, students can arrive on campus, only to find it tricky to meet and socialise with others in a space that values free speech on lesbian, gay and bisexual issues. The time is right to explore how we can recreate spaces on campus that uphold the core definition of homosexuality as sexual orientation towards people of the same sex, and of bisexuality as sexual orientation towards people of either sex – spaces that emphasise and celebrate everything that is fun about being lesbian, gay, or bisexual.
We are already in touch with students at some universities and will be talking to them about the kinds of support they would find most helpful in the future.
If you would like to be part of these discussions, as we review the way in which we support lesbian, gay and bisexual students, email us at studentnetwork@lgballiance.org.uk.
When you email us, if you let us know which university or part of the country you are in, we can also share with you the contact details of your nearest LGB Alliance Friends’ Group, as these local groups welcome students (over the age of 18) to join their events.
