The College of Policing estimate that, in London alone, three men a month are dying as a consequence of chemsex. This is an escalating public health crisis that primarily impacts gay and bi men.
Our ‘Let’s Look After Each Other’ campaign launched with a report that highlights that the health and wellbeing of gay and bi men has been deprioritised as the organisations that once supported us turn their focus towards ‘gender affirming care’.
We call on the Department of Health and the NHS to recognise that gay and bi men have distinct needs. They must:
- Disaggregate the LGBTQ+ acronym
- Collect accurate data
- Increase targeted funding
