LGB Alliance announces a New Era for LGB people at its 5th Annual Conference
New, larger Central London venue for the UK’s only LGB-exclusive conference as it urges supporters “Let’s Go Big” after string of 2025 victories
2 April 2026: After a string of major policy victories in 2025, LGB people in the UK are embarking on a “new era of advocacy and activism” attendees will hear at the UK’s leading conference for lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals.
On 18 April LGB Alliance will celebrate its fifth annual conference at a new, larger venue in Central London showcasing the LGB movement’s recent successes and discussing how the community can unite against fresh threats to LGB rights.
The move to this larger venue supports a new format, with more speakers, panels, and attendees than ever before. This year, the conference theme is “Let’s Go Big”, with a mixture of whole-audience sessions and more intimate breakout talks which explore the growing momentum for the LGB movement for independence from the TQIA+.
Highlights from this year’s conference programme include:
-
- Gen Z Bites Back: Highlighting the rise of young LGB people rejecting homophobic gender ideology, and discussing their experiences of “Progressive Homophobia”
- Gay Teens Aren’t Sick: Following the successes of LGB Alliance’s campaign against puberty blockers and the medicalisation of young LGB people, detransitioned gay man Michael Kerr shares his powerful personal story about being pressured to change gender
- The Problem with Therapy: discusses the infiltration of the therapy profession by TQIA+ activists, how this has corrupted training for therapists, and the risks this poses to LGB people’s mental health
- The Supreme Court Rules. OK?: Joanna Cherry KC, academic Robert Laverick, Sally Wainwright OBE, Tracy Gilbert MP, and journalist Sonia Sodha discuss what’s changed (and what hasn’t) for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals since last year’s historic ruling.
“Since last conference we’ve seen some incredible victories for LGB people, from the Supreme Court’s clarification of ‘sex’ in the Equality Act to the massive scaling back of medical interventions for gender-confused teens,” said Kate Barker, CEO of LGB Alliance. “But while we’re winning on the policy front, the most important battles today are at the coalface: in schools, cultural organsiations and the arts, and in everyday conversations at work where two-thirds of LGB people feel pressure to agree with TQ+ dogma they don’t believe in.
“That’s why we’re asking our community to Go Big in 2026 and beyond, taking our activism into every area of our lives and building unstoppable momentum for the new era of LGB rights. Once again, conference is THE place for any LGB person who wants to network, learn, and hear from those at the forefront of the fight.”
Other talks include a look at the new gay conversion therapy through the eyes of the mother of a gay son (in conversation with renowned consultant psychiatrist Dr Az Hakeem); the hidden impact of chemsex, featuring a presentation and discussion from the LGB Alliance Gay Men’s Health Committee and survivors of the “biggest gay men’s health crisis since HIV/AIDS”; and Compelled Conformity in the workplace, where LGB Alliance Business Forum will discuss its groundbreaking report into the experience of LGB people at work.
Tickets are already on sale to LGB Alliance supporters and to the public. Tickets at a concessionary rate are available on request for students and those who struggle to afford a full-priced ticket, as well as free ‘plus one’ tickets for disabled people who may wish to bring a helper. LGB Alliance also offers free tickets to those who simply would not be able to attend otherwise.
