Joe is a long time Core Supporter of LGB Alliance and is a member of a Friends’ Group and our Young Friends. He has been on the Gay Men’s Health Committee since it was established, and he was both a panelist and a session moderator at Conference 2026.

A psychology and counselling graduate, Joe has given over ten years of service to the NHS. His experience ranges from Child and Adolescent Mental Health to Forensic Services, though he has predominantly worked with adults in urgent care.

Joe is teetotal following a detox from alcohol dependency in 2012 and his approach to his work on the Committee is informed by his recovery.

Knowing that gay and bi men’s health issues are being undermined by the LGBTQ+ framing, and seeing gaps in the public’s awareness of these health issues, Joe was moved to help lead the Committee and drive its work forward.
